In addition to our many resources I am pleased to announce our comprehensive START, MANAGE, GROW educational programs beginning in January. Whether you are a startup or successful business, you're guaranteed to receive valuable information that will help your business thrive in the new year.
Please review the information for each program below and note where registration is required. THERE IS NO FEE for attending any of these programs.

Tuesday, January 4, 2011: The first in our Brown-Bag Lunch Series held on the first Tuesday of every month from noon to 1PM @ Connect113, 113 S. Columbus Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. Business owners are invited to bring their lunch, network and learn nuggets of knowledge from experts. A Q & A session will follow each presentation and we'll get you back to your business promptly @ 1PM! January topic: "Hear how Search Engine Optimization (SEO) plays a strategic role in social networking platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter and how your marketing and communications will be expedited." Tuesday, January 11, 2011 - "Marketing Matters" our third START, MANAGE, GROW your business series workshop held at The Lyceum, 201 S. Washington Street, Alexandria, VA 22314 from 7:30-9:30 am. Enjoy coffee, pastries and networking before 8AM when you'll learn how to strategize, devise, realize and manage your business marketing plan for the new year, delivering the results you want. Cynthia Jennings, President of The BlackBear Group, LLC will teach three elements that every successful marketing strategy should have to bring in more business. Registration required. Tuesday, January 18, 2011: Business Development Roundtable from noon to 1:00 pm at the Durant Community Arts Center, 1605 Cameron Street, Alexandria VA 22314. This is your chance to network and share with other businesses in pertinent discussion that effects your business. January topic: "How to Develop a Unique Selling Position." Tuesday - Wednesday, January 18 -19, 2011: Social Networking Counseling. Businesses who are ready to improve their social networking and use of social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) are encouraged to schedule 45 minute one-on-one counseling sessions with media expert Ray Sidney-Smith of W3 Consulting. These monthly sessions are designed to help you enhance your presence and move forward with your social media strategies. Thursday, January 20, 2011: State Contracting Counseling. Businesses registered to do business with the State of Virginia through the eVA system are encouraged to schedule 45 minute individual sessions with Will Vehrs, Business Services Manager of the Virginia Department of Business Assistance. In addition to already being registered under eVA, owners should be SWaM (Small, Woman-Owned and Minority) certified. These sessions are scheduled monthly on a first-come basis.
