This new 16 single-room patient telemetry unit will help Inova Alexandria Hospital respond to the community's growing need for monitored short-term medical care and alleviate overcrowding in the Emergency Department. The unit's single patient rooms reduce the risk of infection and increase privacy for patients, their physicians and families, promoting family-centered care. This new unit is named after The Twig (Inova Alexandria Hospital women's auxiliary), for their generous pledge of $750,000 toward the unit's $1.5 million construction cost.
